I have a question. I have been leading a Bible study here at my apartment complex since March of 2023. It just fell into my lap, honestly. There was already interest in having a Bible study here. It would get brought up and then dropped several times. Finally, I decided, “If no one else is going to do anything about this, I will.” We have had great moments and tragedy. An example of a great moment is when there was a Native American woman who, when I first talked to her about my faith, was very hostile. But then she started coming to Bible study, and now she is a year plus without alcohol, praise God! There are other similar stories. A tragedy is that one of the members of the Bible study was preventing other people from coming to the Bible study because she could be nasty to you if she didn’t like you. She always liked me until I had to do something I didn’t want to do. I asked her as gently as possible and said, “If you apologize to the people you insulted, then you can come back to the Bible study, but if you don’t apologize, then you cannot come.” She never apologized to those people. Then, she died of an overdose. It was tragic.
Now, I have not been the best at always making sure we have Bible study. Some of that is my fault and some of that is people not showing up.
But here’s the problem. We are still in the Gospel of John. We are probably pushing 80-90 total weeks we have had Bible study. Sometimes I have done something else besides the Gospel of John.
The question is, what should I do next after the Gospel of John? I would like to be able to get a booklet for everyone. Bonus points if it is a cheap option since I am paying out of my own pocket for these resources, and I am categorically poor. We have about 3-4 consistent members of the Bible study. I originally bought 10 ESV versions of the Gospel of John, and I am down to one, given that some people have more than one, and others no longer live here, and we have revolved new members or whatever.

Tonight, we went over John 14:25-15:5. I spoke of Repentance being the fruit that we bear as being in the vine. I always ask about prayer requests people have at the end and then we pray. One member, who has been coming for a little more than a month, when I asked for prayer requests, she wanted to pray for forgiveness. She left early, but I plan on leading her in a pray of salvation tomorrow. I plan on using a prayer I have at the end of my book I wrote that came out on the first day of summer this year and then giving her a copy of the book. It will be the first time I ever lead someone in a prayer of salvation. God is good and most worthy to be praised. That God would use me as a messenger to preach the good news that results in salvation is a very high honor.
